October 22, 2020  POET signed a definitive joint venture contract with Xiamen Sanan Integrated Circuit Co. Ltd. (”Sanan IC”)

"Sanan is constructing a new building and they will lease part of it to Super Photonics. The needs of Super Photonics were kept in mind when the build-out of this new facility was conceived." Initially, a temporary cleanroom and office facilities of 5000 sq.ft were completed (co-located with Sanan IC in Xiamen) and a commitment to complete a permanent 15,000 sq.ft facility in a high-tech industrial park outside Xiamen by the end of the year, was made (That would be 2021). 

For comparison purposes:

In July 2020, Hunan Sanan Semiconductor (Changsha Industrial Park, and also part of Sanan Optoelectronics Co., Ltd.) broke ground on a new production facility and only 11 months later (June 2021) it was inaugurated and went into production as a Mega-Fab with an eventual monthly output of 30,000 6 in. wafers.

If Sanan Optoelectronics Co., Ltd. was able to build a mega-fab in only 11 months, which sounds insane but is true, Super Photonics (POET) should be sitting pretty in China.
