By definition the longs here will be investors taking a long term of the prospects of Poet albeit they might have a few shares in a side pocket to play with. 
Traders don't give a stuff about the LT prospects of the company they just want to play the volatility and spread a make a few quick bucks. 
Until we see progress in terms of hard numbers the investors just need to weather the trading storm. 
It's unfortunate but that's just the  way it is. 
Maybe all longs should turn their computers off and come back in January.
