Lumentum to buy Neophotonics

NeoPhotonics Corp [NPTN] - Last Close: $11.52

NeoPhotonics is breaking out on a buyout deal.

Lumentum Holdings (LITE) will acquire the laser-making fiber optic firm in an all-cash deal worth approximately $918 million. Under the terms of the deal, Lumentum will pay $16 per share to acquire NeoPhotonics' outstanding shares. The deal pays a 39% premium to Wednesday's closing price.

Lumentum said it plans to finance the transaction through cash from the combined company's balance sheet, and the companies plan to complete the acquisition in the second half of 2022.
