Hi REPO 76,

My belief is that for  many of us, including longs, investing in POET, our decisions were based on a short term belief that in PTK here was a high technology investment that was about to explode.  For me in 2011/12, I totally believed, and still do, that optical integration (photons replacing electrons) was a growth investment in the future. I foolishly believed that PTK would react like the best of the dot com bubble, that was the basis of the $70 Club.

Soon the reality dawned that whilst the dream of quick return was being hyped by the early management team, the reality was that POET was a project that by neccesity had to go through all the the stages of a start up tech company: development from R&D, product development, production, commercialisation etc.. Yet still knowing that SP hysteria could not be ruled out.

I frequently wondered how they were going to raise the capital to build a fab, hire the talent to take on such a vast development project. Concluding that clearly, POET was a high risk but potentially high reward investment. Take comfort, steady your nerves and give thanks to the genius, experience and energy of Suresh Venkatesen, who miraculously has achieved the above.

The current development phase is tricky but seems to be going very well, that is attracting customers and gaining design wins.  I have a sense that rather than depend on the experience of the board of directors, management need to hire a specialist manager responsible for marketing and promotion, but who knows they may be beyond that given that the POET Optical Iinterpiser is so disruptive that it sells itself.

All in all REPO, I think you've entered the market for optical integration at the right time and providing you recognise that POET production plans don't bight in with mass production until well into 2022,  and don't allow yourself to  think only in the short term you could do very well indeed.

That's my hope.
