Sorry, Bluecolardollar, unless I am mistaken ( always a possibility ) the Nodrog16 post is talking about oranges instead of apples.  Oranges being the subdivision of Sanan Optoelectronics Limited that is located in an entirely different province (Hunan Province) than is the Super Photonics factory ( the apples in this analogy ) in Fujian Province and is colocated on the Xiamen Sanan factory site, or at least adjacent to it.

I don't believe that the press release cited had anything to do with the Super Photonics Joint Venture in Fujian Province between POET and the Xiamen Sanan Integrated Circuit Co. Ltd division of Sanan Optoelectronics Company, Ltd.

"Photonic IC developer Poet Technologies Inc. has agreed to form a joint venture with Xiamen Sanan Integrated Circuit Co. Ltd. with combined contributions valued at US$50 million."

Sanan Integrated Circuit Co., Ltd. (Sanan IC) is China’s first 6-inch compound semiconductor wafer foundry, serving the microelectronics and photonics markets worldwide. The company was founded in 2014 and is based in Xiamen City in the Fujian Province of China, operating as a subsidiary of Sanan Optoelectronics Co., Ltd.

I did not see anything about Hunan Sanan Semiconductor in that list of subsidiaries, however... and a big "however", I do believe that "Simon Lin", listed as: "Vice Chairman and General Manager of Sanan Optoelectronics Co., Ltd" in that article about Hunan Sanan Semiconductor is the same individual that is the VC and GM of the Sanan Optoelectronics Co., Ltd. that is the home company to Xiamen Sanan Integrated Circuit Co. Ltd, even though the web site for that company doesn't refer to the Hunan Sanan Semiconductor company.  Just a case of not keeping the company web site up to date, I suspect.

as Vice Chairman of the Board, General Manager for Sanan Optoelectronics Co., Ltd.

I tried to search this out and see if Simon and Kechuang were equivalent names, but ran into a dead end.  I suspect they are indeed one and the same person, so the only different thing here is the specific sub branch of Sanan Optoelectronics Co., Ltd.... the Hunan branch in the press release in question vs the Xiamen ( Fujian Province ) branch that has a JV with POET Technologies.

Hunan Sanan Semiconductor is in Changsha High Tech Industrial Park, Hunan Province and Super Photonics is located in Xiamen, Fujian Province.

Hunan Province and Fujian Province have an entire Province sandwiched in the space between them, Jianxi Province and the two of them share no border in common.... apples and oranges.
