POET has laid out an expected product time line by the Greeks, alpha and beta. I tend to think this line reflects the organic progression of products given technological and resource constraints. But how do design wins fit into this sequence? I would like to think you dont get a design win before the beta phase, but I can see how a customer may give a supplier a design win based upon an engineering sketch far before alpha if the supplier has an established track record. Given the Poet time line, it appears some design wins may come before beta phases. Happy to hear other thoughts on this.
