Suresh, Vivek, Tom and more recently Edward Cornejo have been doing a great job in presenting POET to existing and new perspective investors.
And I would really like to take this opportunity to thank Mr. Mika because as I understand it, he has been the driving force behind this push. Well done Tom.
So there is of course competition because it is a vast market and optical integration is really hard to achieve in a meaningful way by any single player large or small. Different systems have come and gone. They generally have one thing in common. The solve part of the problem. POET solves the whole problem.
And really I could cut and paste some of the explanations that have been provided by our science people but we should at least be able to grasp the lessons that management have provided for us as to why the POET platform is ground breaking. All the industry firsts that they have delivered. They are not going to be replicated with silicon photonics in any shape or form. Silicon photonics does not have the fundamental capabilities to deal with photonics as efficiently in a monolithic silicon platform.
Again with the POET platform each and every function is optimized in the best material sets. So by default it has the capability to do everything right. The POET platform will ultimately take what other companies excel at and connect these best in class chips to build the ultimate optical engines for whatever application the customer needs.
And do it at the lowest production costs and facility costs.
How can anyone compete with that?
End of story.
