Message: Past Successful Marketing Campaigns for Component Suppliers

Sorry I am reposting this because I don't think the Title under which I posted it draws proper attention...

I think we need to study past successful promotional campaigns of companies who were in a similar situation to POET's... I mean component suppliers who would otherwise have remained anonymous if not for the teardown websites and the companies' ability to speak up in their own behalf. 

Can we think of any companies of this sort who nonetheless crafted wonderful promotional campaigns for themselves who were in a similar predicament? whose campaigns educated potential shareholders in understanding their technology as well as the profitability of the markets they were about to enter?
