LED's have taken over the lighting industry so to have POET in a JV with the leading LED producer provides context that POET has signed with a global supplier. To become a global supplier in such competitive market where cost is king means they know what it takes to penetrate and supply large markets.

Well, perhaps, Fairchij, but at least my first connotation with “LEDs” was “simple”. However, if POET wants to frame its message with “world’s leading producer”, they have no other choice than going with LEDs. If they would have wanted to frame with photonics or optoelectronics, then adieu “world’s leading producer”. You can’t have it both ways.
