Babaoriley: Assuming industry people can grasp what the six points mean, there just has to be some interest in buying up the whole shootin' match, doesn't there?
Yes, absolutely, Babaoriley! If POET wants to move the share price above the $0.75 hurdle, they must attract new investors. And to attract new investors, they have to write something that new investors can understand.
Well, investors can understand money (sorry, no news on that side), and they can also understand terms like, speed, size (smaller is better, you might have to explain such basics), precision, tangible applications, or the like.
However, investors don’t understand what a spot-size converter, Mach-Zehnder interferometry, etc. might be. The community in this forum might have an idea what a spot-size is and why you’d have to convert it (ha, ha), but to new investors this totally French. Such language might even shy them away from looking any deeper rather than sparking curiosity.
Unfortunately, POET Technologies has a long history of technically-oriented press releases, but even tech guys would like to get more clear explanations and more details rather than having to try to “interpret” the message.
Please don’t get me wrong: The news release is very good and re-assuring, but it doesn’t attract new investors, in case that was its purpose.
The bright side is that the shorters are warned now that good news may come out of the blue anytime and burn them, so they’d better be careful!
