Less than 1 million options (927k) became available under the new plan. I suspect they will save these options for new hires or are waiting for more options to come available. The only way new options can now be added is:

1) If existing options expire. The last distribution of options was the reallocation of Suresh's expired options (6,357,000).

Of those 6,357,000 options 2.5 million were reallocated to Suresh and 1.25 million went to Vivek.

2) If existing options are exercised.

There is a very large number of options that are in the money right now (not sure how many are vested but probably the majority). So it would not surprise me to see some of them get exercised following a significant announcement i.e. the definitive agreement with SANAN. This of course would put money directly into the coffers of POET and would create the availability of the equivalent options. Those options would of course be issued at the new higher price as they should.
