Message: Simply Stated: Why Poet OI and 5G is Relevant?

Data centers need greater throughput at a lower cost. Poet OI leverages that opportunity. Suresh Vantekesan identified that opportunity since 2017 and has lead Poet in the OI's development to meet that objective.

Another market sector is 5G. The global pandemic would seem to me to be more of an accelerant of Poet's technology. With wider spread online use and wireless communications, Poet's OI, at the speed of light, very favorably raises that throughput speed. So 5G and Poet's OI are like cream, sugar, and coffeee together - a perfect mix with an immediate market need. Suresh also identifed that vertical years ago. Remember previous management could not realistically identify those things as they were more inclined to flip Poet to somebody at a price. Suresh put laid the groundwork, put to rest the mystery behind GaAs and pivoted to Inp, silicon, and ultimately Poet's OI. Why? With a few tweaks here and there, it is scalable to current silicon-based technologies to extend that technology into the photonics space. It is the photonics space where agnostically scalable data transmission rates redefine data transmission.

Canada is a world leader in telecommunication. This quote from Bell Canada below gives an indication of what a huge step up 5G is when compared to 4G.

"5G is widely believed to be smarter, faster and more efficient than 4G. It promises mobile data speeds that far outstrip the fastest home broadband network currently available to consumers. With speeds of up to 100 gigabits per second, 5G is set to be as much as 100 times faster than 4G."

That quote alone more than justifies why Poet's OI is a solution to match up with other vendors' products. It is the space where leading telecommunication (wireless) and network connectivity companies occupy. Ultimately any one of them is a potential Poet customer.
