Dumb it Down... please

At the risk of getting a strong rebuke I will crawl out on a limb and pose a nebulous question. The article posted below is 2 years old so the infomation may be way out of date, but I am not a "Techie" so I wouldn't know the difference if it is out of date. A friend, and fellow investor in POET, asked me today if I could relate the Optical Interposer of POET to the developments with 5G communications. Well, what a quandry since I know more about making blueberry pancakes than I will ever know about 5G communications... then it occured to me: Every one of the Tech Gurus on this Hub knows "everything" about the OI and "everything" about 5G. Simple: just ask the experts. ITTR, before you start throwing bricks my direction, please remember that from the start I have been very "transparent" ( I hate that over used word, it should be deleted from Merriam Webster's Dictionary .. JMO ) and have always disclosed that I am anything but a "Techie".
If I am lucky I might understand 1% of the article below. Here is hoping one of the esteemed gentlemen or gentle ladies here among this Hub's membership will interpret this for me ( OK, "Dumb it Down" ) so that my technically challenged brain can conceptualize it in general terms and separate the wheat from the chaff. Just maybe, there is someone on this Hub who is even as technically challenged about computer technology as I am... probably not, but IF there is then the dumbing down process might benefit other Hub members besides myself... it could happen.
FJ, thanks but no thanks. Oz, thanks but no thanks. Not trying to be critical, but you both are so obviously brilliant in the technical sphere that I believe the gulf between your knowledge level and "dumbed down" is just not feasible to bridge. (That is actually a left handed complement to you both, you guys are great! I religiously read all your posts, well it is late at night when I read some of them and I have to light a few candles to see them clearly.. close enough)
I am hoping someone who can really dumb it down will step forward. I may not be a "Techie" but I love this Hub and all who contribute here... even ITTHR. No bricks, ITTR... throw money instead. Okiedo
