Arista and II-VI are working on a ZR solution. This is a loooong distance solution (I saw 120km in an Arista article). It also requires coherent optics. You'll recall from the discussion on coherent optics on the board about a week or two ago that POET hasn't seemed to make a definitive statement on OI and coherent optics (higher order QAM). However many on the board pointed out that ZR/coherent was not where most of the money was since the number of long distance fiber connections needed is dwarfed by the shorter range transceivers (e.g. 100,000s in a singe data center). Suresh is targeting where the payoff was greatest.

So there seems to be no POET connection.
