Message: Just curious - AAOI TIER 1 for 400G

I did not conclude anything. I responded to a post about NeoPhotonic and I think I clearly speculated some ifs of my own.

You see that is where I begin to have a problem. You say you are responding to a post about NeoPhotonics. What post?  The thread discussion was about the subject line which was AAOI and you had both myself and Oz chasing that one.

You say you were speculating some of it on your own. What is the part you were not speculating on? As far as I could tell it was all some kind of story with no basis at all and it was basically telling this forum that we are not going to hear anything about POET from anyone. Did I get that summation correct because that is the way it sounded to me? Everything about it was made up without any supporting factual information.

Pardon me if I am suspicious. I have also got  people cautioning me about  your probable identity and it  kind of  fits the narrative so  far so yes I debated providing that input that apparently offended you. But you are going to post something here please try to provide context. You posted a link that Cisco is laying off in the off topic. On the surface that sounds pretty negative for POET so I asked you if you could provide context inn the off topic. But all I hear are crickets.

It would be useful Godotiscoming if you could provide some context around that article. I assume you have read it and maybe looked a little deeper into what it means so maybe you could provide your take on this.

In other words are the layoffs associated with services which are a big part of Cisco’s bottom line or is it around hardware development? My quick take is that they are preserving their $11 billion cash position and lowering share buyback.

We know that Cisco needs advance optical modules to support 400G and that those needs have affected the industry in general as 400G was pushed out because of the lack low cost optics.

This tends to create I think a greater demand for POET’s optical engine as the stakes get higher to the success of industry leaders.

This  ends my discussion on this subject.
