During the GaAs era just when Ajit Manocha came aboard and when there was speculation about someone from Apple supposedly getting involved indirectly with Poet. At that time, there was a BNN report that was supposed to air, but it got canceled suddenly. Poet had to save face and probably appease an important potential customer. Since that time, everything got hushed quickly. Since that time Poet adopted a narrow policy of NRs when necessary and annual updates (as they have done for about 3 or 4 years now). The lid has been kept on tight because I feel the stakes are probably very very high. Many of the people that Poet is probably in contact with are high profile. Repuatation and credibility is everything. I do believe that once any launches are ready (notice that I said launches) as Poet is moving forward in parallel, then that will be part of the floodgates. Why did they say "floodgates"? I believe they know how disruptive and pervasive this technology will be; so do their chosen customers.
No one wants to leak because they cannot; and if they do, it would probably be very costly and damaging to everyone. Maybe some of this might have to do with technological brinksmanship between China and the U.S.A.? With Poet being in both markets, they need to demonstrate neutrality to have trust with all parties they deal with. That's what I think is among the reasons for all the silence other than the obvious being commercial competition between companies. Why was China Prosper group willing to invest in Denselight Shanghai and take over paying the operating expenses of a staged divestment of Poet's subsidiary, Denselight? I think they are satisfied with most of the qualifications that have run their course; but, there might be other things running in parallel to this as well that is very secret or it might just be simply accounting between parties. Poet's accounting, regulatory hoops between governments, and security exchanges might be the other detials to check off; so, with the staged payments both parties probably agreed to anticipated bureaucratic events that gradually separate the buyer from the seller on Denselight assets, transition of information between key personnel, etc. I feel confident because while the remaining shares for Denselight remain in escrow, the buyer is paying the operating costs of the many employees Poet could no longer afford to retain without the sale of Denselight to them. All in my speculative opinion why their is so much silence. Obviously, there are still details to close off as mentioned in this post. When those cups are filled- then they can pour information to create demand for their products. You need to be really ready when you expect high volume out of the gate. It has to be done well; no chance for a screw-up. First impressions mean everything.
