Have you ever given thought to a possible fact that Poet management may have managed the amount of debentures issued all along? They may have had an overall target amount to budget for to allocate funds for repayment to debenture holdrs from the DL sale proceeds. Also, they would want a reasonable amount of cash leftover for general Poet operations in my opinion.
