Leb it almost sounds like you are blaming TM for the delays? I don’t agree with you on this. Recognize that the issue of getting money out of China just makes his job harder and I would think is a big source of frustration.

One thing to remember is that the co-operation agreement with Accelink was never binding.

As "preferred co-development partners," the MOU outlines a path for mutual co-operation with the objective of developing, qualifying and selling a family of transceiver products based on Poet's low-cost, high performance optical interposer platform.

As you may recall myself, tombot and ms tombot were able to talk to SV at the empire club shortly after that announcement and one of the questions we asked, was the deal done to put pressure on US companies who are interested in the dielectric? That answer was no. They remain free to do deals with anyone they wanted to.

I don’t think the DL deal has anything to do with OI readiness. I expect the decision to buy DL and expand a relationship with POET was already made based on the status of technology development at the time the deal was made.

Could there be some form of leverage at play to ensure POET does not walk away from China and put all their eggs in the US basket?

Think about the prise. By all accounts the US Tier 1 company likes what the OI based engine offers because it provides a platform to meet their roadmap needs for the foreseeable future. I think we have heard that POET expects to see further funding in terms of NRE and one would have to think that this will make the Chinese investors a little nervous.

Who knows really but $5 million is not much of a holdback considering that $21 million is planned to be paid by the end of the year.
