Interesting. I  do  believe that IMEC would benifit greatly from POETs OI but then again pretty much  everyone would. 

A couple of quick notes. IMEC uses wire bonding so on that side they appear to be a behind the more advanced hetrogenious integration approaches but no  doubt with the size of this  company they are working on this. 

They use a very large photonic node at 220nm which is  why I  expect they achieve the lowest waveguide loss at 1db/cm and coupling loss at 2db. This still falls well below POETs metrics at less than .5db/cm waveguide loss and less than .5db coupling loss.
