Shelved is a very final term to my mind equal to abandonment.  It appals me to think that the good doctor’s  work has been so disregarded.  He must be totally disappointed that his hopes for commercialising POET have been ‘shelved’.  Presumably, although I note he still works at his University, he no longer wishes to have anything to do with the company, otherwise he would apply himself to the 4th Terminal issue and who better to do so?  I heard this stated by a member of this board with inside knowledge of his state of mind about PTI.  Such a shame and most disappointing that the company’s actions should turn him against onward development, I can understand why he might feel very bitter that his life’s work expressed in the patents that he developed stands festering.
