It really begs the question. Why so many different locations at such an early stage? Setting up POET specific equipment for assembly and test at 3 different locations has got to be expensive which makes me think that possibly 2 of those lines are at customers facilities?
Current understanding is that the active optical interposer ready chips are produced at DenseLight and potentially Almae's fab.
The dielectric optical interposer is produced at SilTerra.
These two parts are then assembled and packaged at the new lines.
We were advised that this would take place in Asia using contract manufacturing but there was no further detail offered.
Three facilities at three locations. It's hard to reconcile the need versus cost so I expect there is much more going on with partners. Customers playing a role to facility this apparent need?
