It is interesting. I’d bet Thailand is assembly and testing. Semiconductor companies like NXP have set-up shop there for that. As to China and Korea? We know this is a recent development (“2019-present”), that it involves “collaborating with external vendors, facilitating production line technology transfer” and “support(s) new product manufacturing.”

Remember a couple years back when there was flooding in Thailand and it ruined hard drive assembly factories for (I think) Western Digital? I hope our site selection criteria took account of that and looked for factories on higher ground.
