Message: Some clarification that should put some minds at ease

Any new applications will be a function primarily of waveguide design, which POET does with a team based in Ottawa and packaging, which will be designed by POET and performed outside of DenseLight.

To the extent that we need active devices at certain wavelengths we expect to contract with DenseLight or others to provide, paying NRE if needed.  DenseLight will have a license to use certain know-how to produce to our spec and, if we need additional supply, we can provide that IP to others. The point is that we have gotten DenseLight to the point of being able to produce what we need and we will have a supply agreement with them.

DenseLight will be a supplier of lasers and detectors (based on InP) that are compatible with the Interposer. The other two pieces - the interposer itself which includes all the waveguides, filters, mux-demux, etc. and the packaging (incl test and assembly) are designed by POET and fabricated outside of DenseLight.

This “fab light” approach is common in the industry. The capital equipment that we will supply is done in order to preserve our IP.
