Thanks go to Rainer for alerting us to the new DenseLight presentation on the Company website.
What surprises me, following the recent flurry of negativity from the ‘we’ve got nothing’ brigade, is the absence of their comment to clear evidence in the DenseLight presentation supporting what our Chairman describes as ‘astonishing progress’.
Achieving the turnaround at DenseLight has consumed significant management time and focus in the last two and a half year since its acquisition by PTI. Besides creating the ability to design, develop and manufacture products at Changi our management team have established significant development partners internationally and the list is growing - great to see Huawei in the list of associates.
The fruits of these labours have yet to be reflected in the Share Price but for those with any experience of the management of technical projects, will see the significant value of what has been achieved in creating a R&D/ manufacturing base in Singapore and how this is clearly boosting the potential of POET’s real value.
Management have every reason to feel proud of their remarkable efforts. Think back three years to what is currently available for wealth generation, compared to the little flood damaged laboratory at Stoors when SV and AM first arrived in 2016. This is incredible progress and only now with all this infrastructure and talent in place can we justly expect management to deliver the beef. I feel we shall be hearing more on customers and earnings potential in the Q3 report but may have to endure until Q4 for names to be named.
Whilst a period of testing of components continues we should recognise that such components have to work with a high degree of confidence prior to the start of the necessary proof work. Typically, problems if they occur are in the early part of the testing sink period. So whilst we may be biting our nails in anxiety and feeling tetchy with each other there is every reason to be hopeful that management can now start delivering news that really can make a difference to market sentiment. The pregnant pause in news is for a reason - we all must know by now that the baby is surely on its way. Clearly some are thinking Monday but we should be used to such flurries and false alarms by now.
