Message: Good morning

It is human nature to fear the unknown just as much as it is human nature to take advantage of the fear it produces.

Fear:  Clearly memories of past history whether it has any relevance or not to the current status does impact the way people think. Many people have the 7 years statement in their pocket that they like to wave at people on this forum as a sign of failure. It is understandable to be frustrated but it really is self-defeating to not think about the time frame and acknowledge the differences.

That being said I say the negativity that tends to  surge on this forum at times of share price weakness does provide a message for management that shareholders need reassurance regarding the progress being made today. I believe the company has attempted to provide as much clarity as they can but unfortunately for the most part it is well above the understanding of most investors.

If you look at for example the mode conversion images on pages 16 of the CIOE presentation it demonstrates the level of versatility that is enabled by the optical interposer without the need for lenses. If you read the statements on that page it states that these transitions are achieved with simple lithography. The key word being simple.

And the next slide shows:

“Excellent Mode control of the fundamental mode through optimized design and patterning”

Many on this forum hate the word optimize as it is a word that they equate to the failure of the GaAs platform. But as it is applied to  the optical  interposer it is simply and generally about getting the refractive index fine tuned to  a narrow bandwidth so  they can jam as many signals through a single fiber as possible which is  really about sizing and shape of the waveguides.

And for those that are paying attention to detail, that presentation screams progress and so does the hiring. Look at it logically and as a sign of commercial progress that all these highly qualified people are needed to supply the demands of this company not just for one product but for many products that can be improved by the platform.

Back to that scary tech side that is a black hole for many people. It should not go unnoticed that they are targeting coupling efficiency significantly higher than what exists today in existing optical connections. Ask yourselves what the significance of this is. Why attempt to exceed the norms in terms of performance.  And they are doing this with a technology that costs less.

The term “differentiated” does not have to be synonymous with complicated or more difficult.

I have work to  do  outside to  get ready for  winter so  hopefully I can avoid getting sucked into  this vortex thread any longer. Have a good one Cheers
