Baba, I know you understand that
IF PoET was an brand new company on the Venture with this highly disruptive, new fangled, dielectric waveguided interposer thingy and
IF there had never been any GaS technology and
IF there had never been any prior management and
IF there had never been any engineering failures or unrealistic time lines for something that simply could not be built with existing technology then
PoET would be the darling of the Venture and the SP would probably in far north of that $1 mark you mention.
But that is not our reality, so you, I, and most are hopeful, but it has become a "show me" proposition hasn't it? Poet cried "WOLF" once too often in the past and now investors are gun shy, and why not, for all the reasons you mention.
There is nothing to indicate that the interposer doesn't work, time lines seem to be more or less on schedule, but that nagging doubt persists, yes?
Management knows this, Suresh's legacy rests on it and, the indicators we do have, say yes.
So we sit patiently, with fingers crossed, waiting for that indicator that the tests are successful, the prototypes are received, the NRE's have been completed and a substantial order has been placed., all the while silently chanting to ourselves "please, let this time be the one!!!"
IMO, of course
