'If there’s one unifying theme to define everything that Apple does, it’s integration. From integrating components on a logic board to integrating an entire ecosystem of Apple devices like the iPhone, Macs, AirPods, and HomePod to integrating supply and distribution lines under its centralized control. Apple started designing its own iPhone chips because it didn’t want to be dependent on Qualcomm. A year ago, it started making its own graphics processors to shed its reliance on Imagination Technologies.'
Babaoriley,
You've disturbed my otherwise tranquil mood. As I think it is beyond dispute that Apple took a serious look at POET IP. I dug the above para out of a recent Aug 2018 article and wonder how you can be so assured that the Apple development does not contain any POET IP. The article goes on to mention other Apple goals of monolithic integration and extending battery life. It seems they wants to compete with stuck in a rut Intel.
Now where have we heard this before. It's clear that current PTI strategy for in house development had swivelled, but bear in mind that selling POET IP remained part of PTI's strategy post swivel.
I can understand that it's fun to mock the afflicted but the nature of commenting on high risk venture capital themes is to think the impossible and Holmes like I still cannot eliminate this possibility.
