There are a number of changes to existing slides and some new slides to provide a clearer message. One of the biggest and most meaningful additions where the rubber meets the road for customers is costs (slide 12).

It was thought that the cost of data could reach the $1/G goal at 400G with new technology and that is pretty much consistent with industry’s needs. However for first time POET is predicting that the dielectric based optical engine can enable the $1/G price point with their 100G optical engine. That is a really big statement that will generate a lot of customer attention.

Without muddying the waters the question then begins to emerge. How low can POET drive the costs down at higher data rates of 400G and above? This will compel customers to join the POET roadmap to remain competitive.
