Dave,
I can see the dangers in my brand of optimism. But, I have experience of carnage all around and optimism keeps you in control. Hence the old military maxim:
'If you can keep your head whilst others around you are losing theirs - you've probably misappreciated the situation.
Each quarterly report I read by starting with the risk analysis with as much focus as I can. It's worth some thought and analysis. New perils emerge each time and I am left thinking why would this concern management. I feel this provides little insights into what management is thinking.
To my mind management is moving on and increasing their understanding of the world they inhabit ie progress. If they understand the risk properly then they are arming themselves the best they can.
Nobody could possibly imagine that implementing potentially ground breaking technology was ever going to be easy. There are some pretty slick players on the board, we should leave them to do their job.
As regards communications. If they have chosen silence then there is in all probability a rational for doing so and not complacency.
Wait Out
