Quan, the problem from my perspective is that they believe they are providing the communications required under their communications policy and that they are abiding by the safe harbor rules. I know this to be true.

But it really makes you wonder why they would not provide an update beyond the quarterly reports to show off what they are doing at DL. Not even a photo gallery.

We discovered the upgrade on the indium phosphide wafer side was from 2 inches to 4 inches and only caught that piece of info as a result of the recently issued CP. There is a huge difference in economics between 3in and 4in but they have never thought to highlight this to the investor base. Same goes for the patents. Many of the micro cap technology companies go out of their way to issue NR’s for patents and explain their purpose even in the application stage.

As far as the detector goes it is again a problem I believe of communications. The detector is a thyristor structure and I believe that integration in POET speak relies on the forth terminal which they ran into difficulties with as was described with the VCSEL thyristor. So I am assuming that this is what POET meant when they reported that the detectors value was differentiated by its ability to integrate.

My suggestion to POET to issue a year end letter to shareholders was discussed by management and they decided against it as it was a departure from their communications policy. But you have to wonder if a reason for this is because they are close to being able to report something meaningful for example the India RFP.

As I had suggested in my email:

I was wondering if there are any thoughts to provide a small update maybe in the form of a letter to shareholders to give some indication of the accomplishments achieved this year in transforming the DL facility. Many are awaiting word on the Indian RFP so maybe some indication of how that is proceeding would be a boost to people’s confidence that the GaAs platform has future value.

I am with Hogan on the India RFP.

I think that one way or another they have a liquidity event coming that does not require equity financing otherwise I would expect them to be pulling out the stops to support the share price to finance what is a long term commitment of the DL plant and staffing. I seriously doubt they would have left it this long and left it to chance.

I am very hopeful that they will be able to update us also on the dielectric as per this post which I used as the basis for an email that has also been received by POET management.

I will echo McWitty’s post which he ended with “stay turned”.
