Good to keep in mind that  the physicist, Bob Musk, one of the 3 original principles of BB Photonics, is still living and working in the UK.  He  co-developed the BBP dielectric platform, along with Mirek Florjanczyk, the Canadian.

Mirek was the actual founder of BB Photonics.

Bob Musk has 50 years experience in microelectronics and optoelectronics systems development and will most likely be a good fit for British photonic development no matter where he has set up shop.
