Message: New Family of External Cavity Narrow Linewidth Lasers

And one more question. Back in the September-NEWS about the new family of external cavity narrow linewidth lasers Rajan Rajgopal was quoted:

“Our new designs are highly scalable, and the inherent hybrid design feature is a new element to the BF18, which offers tunability ranges not yet seen or realized by conventional NLW-ECL lasers today. DenseLight’s new NLW capabilities and products will be the cornerstone of our ability to deliver compelling solutions that are well suited for real-life sensing environments.”

As I wrote in my post befor, I am not well educated in all the technical details. I would like to know, whether the "inherend hybrid design" ist something unique? What are the competitors for this product? Does BF18 really offer "tunability ranges not yet seen or realized by conventional [or other?] NLW-ECL laseser today"? And a more economical question: How big is the market for this product?

I tried to find the answers for these question by myself via google, but did not come up with helpful informations. So I really would appreciate the forum's help to better understand this produc announcement and what it means for Denselight/Poet. Thanks Ahasja
