Not really. Occam's Razor is just a heuristic approach, no more, no less.

From Wikipedia: "His [Occam's] principle states that among competing hypotheses, the one with the fewest assumptions should be selected."

In this case, there's this one additional assumption I wasn't aware of when I put out my hypothesis.
