And in order to justify this "thank you" post, please let me remind us that radiation is much higher in space than on earth and can damage electronic semiconductors much more easily. The smaller the structures, the greater the impact.

Semiconductors based on gallium arsenide, however, are much more radiation-resistant than those based on silicon. And that might be a connection to POET Technologies, especially if there's a need to monolithically integrate electronics with photonics. Has anyone done that yet, except for POET Technologies? Nobody we are aware of!

This might well go "over the moon" – even if it goes to the earth's orbit only. But until then, let's stay "grounded".
