Sonum: On MAN (metro access networks) 10x10G is prefer to 4x25G just for price.

Might be difficult to extend that to, say, 100x10G in order to achieve 1T. Sooner or later you will be running into spatial constraints, and then you'll wish you had a deeper integration.
