In view of the blast of negative hyperbole re POET from the usual sources, I feel investors, who wish to make their own judgement of the true state of the POET GaAs platform, need only listen again to SV's comments on the issue. We need to take acalm balanced view and not an emotional view based only on the dknoee hjerk decline ein SP post AGM.
Our CEO gave an honestand transparent account of the pros and cons of the GaAs platform. His remarks, which were positive in the main with one exception which SV regarded as normal in development work that concerned the Thyristor switch. Those who seek to interpret this as the end of POET demostrate they know nothing about development work and are acting in a irresponsible way to generate fear. This should be ignored, but please make your own judgement by listening to the relevant section again. To do this Click on the following link and listen @ 25:25 until 28:51.

Having replayed what constitutes the most negative statement made in his report, my view is that I cannot see how his remarks can be interpreted as anything other than an inconvenient but necessary delay in the development of the fully integrated AOC. What he says boils down to: there have been challenges with the manufacturing of the four terminal thyristor. A work around solution, using the three terminal, has been already proved but the change in the switching device will require additional development time whilst the detector is re-optimised. POET remains an important part of the PTI strategy.
I am sure what was said hardly constitues anything like the disaster that some are irresonsibly claiming. React to the rable rousing if you like but such knee jerk reactions will seriously damage your wealth.
