Neither PET nor POET is dead Prophecyman it is one entity -  Rainers Ven diagram may help you understand that.  Neither is it dead as a commercial opportunity, your hyperbole stating otherwise is dangerous, damaging opinion and just plain wrong.

POET's value and potential to the IC world is that it is a platform that provides for integrated opto electonic devices to be built very cheaply, with all the advantagesof GaAst which is what makes it potentiallydisruptive. That platform can be used in other FABs including, with some changes, silicon FABs, to build integrated devices in different combinations of devices. Not all products will require the troublesome 4 switch thyristor, for which they already have tested a workaround. So the value of the POET platform remains as other combinations of othe POET devices do and will work, as I believe the four switch Thyristo will do too, in due course, given previous development experience of overcoming such engineering issues.

Turning to the viability of engaging a partnerthat you popooh.

What was said yesterday is that the POET platform is up and running and has been proven in a fab, during mass production, in this year and with good results.  Yes, one device needed for the AOC product  does not work to specification, but not the whole process.  In fact the process is so provable in its current state that the company are confident they can demonstrate to other companies, that own a fab and with the right resources, a clear value proposition of taking the AOC development on in aPartnership. Partnership means that all the knowledge of the PTI POET platform staff is available within that partnership.  Your premise that it will all take too long to start up and transfer knowledge simply does not hold water in those circumstances. POET has already been transferred between Fabs successfuly.   By emphasising  that the partner would need a fab it allows the more rapid development iterations to take place.  That could mean, given the workaround, that the AOC could be put back on schedule or even advanced.  Besides, I cannot imagine that the company is not already some way down the line on discussions given the hint made of the type of partner envisaged by SV and that the need has been mentioned in previous briefings, they are not starting from scratch.

You know full well that my PET theory is a side issue, I have no need or desire to defend it but will continue pointing out dots.

As regards Easter Bunnies MyPOET,  I have every faith and belief that at least one exists and its you my lovely, with lots of fluff between your ears.
