Message: Intel in Vietnam

Vietnam is a low-cost manufacturing centre or trying to become that, so any manufacturing outsourced whether it be from North America, Europe, India and China might get outsourced to Vietnam. Of course, Ajit Manocha, through his M2i initiative, would probably like to bring back jobs to a growing tech industry in India. So POET is just following the natural evolution of business in trying to secure the best and most competitive avenues for production. I heard an interesting comment on television a few nights ago (might have been CNN), and that was: "... it is a goal of public companies to find ways to cut costs to increase shareholder value" (thus the share price). So, Vietnam is an option for the tech industry, plain and simple. To me, Singapore is more sophisticated and is a hub for invention. Vietnam is probably for the nuts and bolts manufacturing for technology. A strategic alternative for those who might want to do business there.
