my 2 cents...

This is a positive move.

Ajit brought great brand name cache to the company, and I credit him for joining and help get POET on the map.     The connections he brought to the company have no doubt put POET on the radar with many big firms... a positive that will be realized when the VCSEL is finally optimized, the product roadmap progresses with the POET IP etc..  The great thing is, he can conintue to do this while on the board going forward.

At the risk of offending some (and possibly Ajit, but somehow I don't think he is reading this), I got the feeling he had his fingers in some other projects/ventures/councils/keynotes outside of POET.  ...I had always wondered if we had 100% Ajit driving the POET agenda every single day.  One example of this is him not using his POET title at events or when doing a keynote.  This assessemnet could be completly unfair - i am sharing a feeling i had.

With David, I think we will get a younger, accomplished semiconductor executive, who has taken a company from concept to NASDAQ....he can be our 24/7 driver of the company, along with our C-Suite.  I am sure he will be energized to build something even bigger and bolder that his last Semi stop, with this chance.

I am glad Ajit is still involved, and also glad to have a new A level player at the helm.
