So for me all this is condensing to a simple question: Would Apple wait months and years for POETs small team of specialists with their limited resources and nagging problems with epi-wafers and export licensing?

... and... why wouldn't Apple help POET out with engineers to hasten the process, if the end result is very much in Apple's best interests?
