Some can't easily throw in the towel, being down 80% or more. So they just hang in there, on hope that somehow things will turn around.

Then there is the matter of all the patents, which have come over the past year like machine gun fire. And the certainly-superceded 3rd party valuation of several years ago. Do these things require hope?
