It defiantly sounds like he had hung up. I also recall hearing someone talking after the call was confirmed as over... I never hung up my phone though and also heard muted voices on my end after the fact. I was not able to make out the discussion. I can 100% agree that their was a discussion afterwards, between who and about what I have no ideas.
