I considered that, but then they wouldn't need to include any statement at all if they held 0 shares.
It is in the section titled "Interests of Experts" which implies Bennett Jones does indeed have a shareholder interest in the company.
A 0% disclaimer would have applied to all the other experts such as the auditor Marcum LLP and Poet's other legal firm Katten Muchin Rosenman LLP.
But the only declaration of securities interest is for Bennett Jones, ergo, they must be shareholders as the statement implies.
