Speaking of NDA's,

Please have a look at this document (39 pages I know it a long one but interesting) pertaining to the December 2015 MIT Inteconnect roadmap effort (silicon photonics)

NDA's aren't just for POET as photonics "could" be really be the next big thing...

There is too many sections of this document that I could post as abstract. Therefore I suggest that you take an hour of your time this week-end to look at it.
