YetiLIVES re: "Why even say this effectively saying to the market no news till then"
I understood POET's message on this in terms of an update on what was discussed in yesterday's NR (emphasis on the VCSEL milestone and tying in all 3 components together) in early Q4, but not necessarily no news until then (although many will read it such). There are other things going on including statements such as (bold is mine):
From the town hall meeting (00:18:27) "We will be selling components initially, like the detectors, for example, but then we’ll migrate to optical engines where we actually have the entire engine needed for sale."
From the town hall meeting (00:52:50) "We’re also actually in advanced stages of discussions with other entities that could potentially license our technology for applications that we’re currently not, from a consumer or commercial perspective, driving towards. And that’s particularly with medium wave and current sensing, which are more satellite based and communications, not conducive for a company like ours to go after those kinds of applications, but there are people very interested in using our technology for those kind of applications and we’re in discussions with them."
Then there are the markets where POET might build and sell the sensors instead of licensing them.
Then I imagine there may be some things being worked on that we are not aware of, but who knows.
Hopefully there are some developments before Q4. I do agree that time to market is critical.
Good luck!!
