Reducing taxes

You got me confused but lets use 10% as an exmaple of tax payable

1.40 minus 10% = 1.36 profit, hence 14 cents tax

1.04 minus 10%= 93.6 cents profit

What am i missing here???????????????????

At 1.40 you still manage to make 42.4 cents more profit?????? and your taxes are paid.

I think.

Perhaps it's different on larger sums as well .
