Regarding peak demands, I think power consumption of the servers in a data center should be more or less stable, while the cooling system's power consumption should fluctuate with outdoor temperatures. Overall, power consumption should be pretty predictable without any surprising peaks.
At least I cannot imagine anything that would account for a factor of 50. I'd rather think they meant $10 savings per server and month, which would be plausible. But whatever it is, text and numbers on the website should be understandable and reproducible by anyone with a pocket calculator. Facts that are not obvious, like e.g. any special power rates, should be explained or at least mentioned.
Anyway, I contacted the company and hope they get that issue clarified "soon".
