Message: THM tomorrow?

"I don't get how they are going to work this THM without a halt, but you can't halt without a decent reason..."

I mulled the above that I wrote half hour or so ago while taking a quick shower, where, as we know, all great thoughts originate.

I think there will be a halt regardless of news or not - the risks of selective disclosure are too much, and that may well be enough for the regulators to agree to the halt. It might last until an hour or two after the end the THM.

I have heard people make the argument over time (not here) that if a company makes it clear in plenty of time via NR that a webcast is coming (and, of course, we were just reminded), that the company can announce news otherwise announced before or after market hours. I don't know if that's accurate, but even if it is, why take the risk? Can you imagine if they said something new and great - the people at the meeting would actually be at a disadvantage, as it would be the height of rudeness to get your tablet out and be trying to buy shares while the meeting is going on! Those listening at home don't have that worry!

So those of you at the meeting, you'd better designate someone to trade for you if something new and really good gets said, and trading hasn't been halted.

In my scenario, the halt itself doesn't mean big news for sure, but it's pretty dramatic and probably prudent.

For goodness sakes, someone ask one of the management folk why the market cap disconnect wiht the potential - I think it's a fair question, whether they want to make any comment on it or not, that's a different story.
