Message: Protecting the Poet IP

Perhaps one reason for this acquisition is for Poet to have an end to end facility as one more way of protecting their core IP from being stolen. This acquisition will reduce their dependency on external contractors and other parties and the associated risk that entails. The DenseLight facility seems to have all the basic core components needed for new in-house product development from start to finish.

We don't want the drama Poet had with Anadigics and all those operational uncertainties as we design, package, test, and prototype new products. So I suspect this is part of the business rationale for this acquisition.

Also, note that the Poet Canadian headquarters office has moved from downtown Toronto to mid-town Toronto (less expensive generally speaking). Given that the town hall will also be in Toronto, I would safely assume that we will be uplisting to the TSX eventually and keep that Canadian exchange listing after all.

Canadian office listed at the bottom of today's NR:
20 Eglinton Avenue, East, Suite 1107, Toronto, ON

Previous office (last NR):

Suite 501, 121 Richmond St. W., Toronto, ON,
