I think you're right FJ
There has been a steady build up on this board that something big was about to happen regardless of whether there was a leak or not. This is due to the degree of quiet signalling by PTI management of the growing interest of parties waiting in the wing (see SV quote below).
SV 12:19 – Both of these emerging sectors represent worldwide growth markets that offer tremendous opportunity for POET. Both of these discussions are at the inception stage today. I bring them to your attention largely to highlight the excitement and interest in the market for POET.

Is it from these stirrings hinted at that we are about to see revealed as news and which is it likely to be? You will remember there was SV heads up of negotiations with an 'institution' which has been delivered in A Star and this was followed by the following quote from SV:
SV: 'advanced discussions to license for NRE fees and transfer our proprietary integrated Planar Opto-Electronic Technology. Included in these talks is the proposed establishment of a platform for the development of integrated sensing applications'.

As much as I would personally like to see the news to be the revelation why Tony Blevins of Apple joined the TRAB as news, I have to say management have not pre-signalled that to us, what they have signalled is the likelihood that it is the discussions to 'license for NRE fees'. I submit that this is next in line news given that they delivered the news on the 'Institution deal'.
As FJ says NRE must therefore be the most probable cause of this halt. Lets face it given the number of players involved in producing a platform, it would be logical that it woud take a longer time to get the approval required for a NR from the multiple participants involved, hence the delay and long halt. Also with so many players in the know, this would have been the most likely source of a leak, if indeed one had occurred.
Either way this is exciting and those who want to go round town shooting their pistols in the air, whoopdeedooing and terrorising the nice ladies in the saloon have every justification to be excited. My habits are a little more conservative and brother David (DNWL) and I consumed half a bottle of whisky discussing POET prospects yesterday - much enjoyed too!!
